Improving email delivery

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

As of April 2, 2021, there is now a better way to send emails from your own domain.

In Quotient you can instantly see when a customer has viewed your quote, but sometimes things don’t go as planned and your quote email ends up in your customer’s junk folder.

There are many reasons why this may happen and it’s a rather complex topic (email servers are a fickle bunch). Under some circumstances, because Quotient sends email on your behalf, some recipient email servers see this as suspicious and marks your email as spam.

For this reason, we’re making some new email defaults but also giving you the option to choose which best fits you.

You can now choose from two options of email delivery

The first is sending via Quotient, where customer emails will come from your name but via mail@e.quotientapp.com with replies to your email address. This is the most reliable and future-proof method.

The second method is sending via your own domain, where customer emails come from your name and your email address. With this option, we highly recommend verifying your domain to allow Quotient to send email on your behalf. This may require adding or modifying your domain's SPF record.

To choose your preferred method of delivery, go to (admins only):
Settings > Email domain verification.

Unless you choose an option (before February 25, 2016), we’ll automatically change you to the most reliable option (send via Quotient).
